Formed in London in 1994 by producer/multi-instrumentalist (later of Red Snapper fame) and vocalist Claire Lemmon , Ali Project existed in the liminal space between jazz, dub, trip-hop, and ambient noir. Their sound was characterized by double bass growls, skeletal beats, and Lemmon’s ethereal, Nico-esque vocals.
