Arguably the most improved performance in the dub. Keranen’s Casca is fierce and commanding as a general, but fragile in her private moments. The infamous waterfall scene works better in English because Keranen doesn't play it as romance; she plays it as a woman finally allowing herself to be vulnerable after a lifetime of armor. Her screams during the Eclipse are soul-shattering, matching the animation’s horror beat for beat. The “Old School” Flavor Let’s address the elephant in the room: the 1997 dub is not perfect.
