What Are Vocal Function Exercises (VFEs)? Developed by Dr. Joseph Stemple, a pioneer in voice therapy, VFEs are a set of four specific exercises designed to strengthen and balance the laryngeal musculature, improve vocal fold adduction (closure), and increase the efficiency of the vocal mechanism.
