Works – but only if you are comfortable with CUPS debugging, Rosetta, and legacy driver installation quirks. Avoid for production environments.

1. Executive Summary The Samsung ML-1670 is a monochrome laser printer released around 2010–2012. In 2017, Samsung’s printing business was acquired by HP Inc. Consequently, HP has migrated and re-signed legacy Samsung drivers. For macOS users, this creates a unique challenge: official drivers exist but are not natively included in macOS after version 10.15 (Catalina) , and they are not available via Apple Software Update.

The ML-1670 works on macOS, but only if you download the legacy HP-provided Samsung driver package. It does not support Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) natively and will require Rosetta 2.
